Vehicle donations

Updated: Jul 15, 2019

On Friday 15th March 2019, Sussex Freemasons made a considerable contribution to the Hospice at Home service by gifting new vehicles to The Martlets Hospice, Hove, St Michael's Hospice, Hastings, St Barnabas House Hospice, Worthing, and St Wilfrid's Hospice Eastbourne.

These vehicles provide a vital service to our communities and to the Hospice at Home service which aims to enable patients with advanced illness to be cared for at home, and to die at home if that is their preference. Care can also be provided to prevent admission to inpatient care, for crisis management or for longer periods of care. St Wilfrid’s Hospice, Eastbourne hosted the event at which these vehicles were handed over to the various Hospices.

This was a major Launch for Sussex Freemasons. Not only were we able to hand over vitally needed equipment to support those in critical need of help but also this was where Sussex Masonic Charities formally launched their new logo.

It was an incredible evening and with thanks to Bro Bob Mayston for providing a laser light show for the Launch.

In making the presentations Christopher Moore, Provincial Grand Master for Sussex said “The presentation of these cars to the hospices Care at Home teams is an outstanding example of Sussex Freemasons working with Sussex organisations for the benefit of people in Sussex.

Michael Harris, Chairman of Sussex Masonic Charities said “Sussex Freemasons are proud to be able to directly support the work of our Sussex hospices and the amazing work that the Care at Home teams do in our local communities”

Pictured are 3 of the vehicles being handed over an the new Logo “Sussex Masonic Giving – help where it is needed”. Watch out for this branding at future events.
